Politics over Satyam hots up

HYDERABAD, 10 Feb: Chief minister Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy today told the AP Assembly that the Satyam fraud has been replicated in TDP president Mr N Chandrababu Naidu’s family owned Heritage Foods and the management of the latter is certain to go to prison.
Earlier in a significant development Mr Naidu admitted that his family managed NTR Trust received Rs 1 cr from former Satyam chairman Mr B Ramalinga Raju’s companies but not from Satyam or Maytas Infra.
Dr Reddy was replying to the two day debate on the Satyam fraud. Mr Naidu said he was ready for a probe by a sitting Judge into Heritage and that the probe should also cover the 14 companies to which Dr Reddy is allegedly linked.
There were raucous scenes in the House when Government Chief Whip Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy pointedly asked if he got Rs 1 cr from the Rajus, whether it is not a fact that Satyam spent Rs 80 cr towards making TDP membership cards and if it’s not true that Satyam sponsored his son Mr N Lokesh’s education in USA. Meanwhile, 30 legislators from the TDP, TRS, CPM and CPI, were suspended for the day in the evening session, when they tried to reopen the debate on Satyam
